Geo Metro gets 40-45 mpg

And costs far less than a Prius!

Here is a interesting story about someone who won a mileage competition with one of these cars.They were made using a Suzuki engine in a GM joint venture.At the time they were laughed at,and treated as a “disposable car”;hence the supply of these is not great.naturally they are selling at all of book value now and many dealers report getting requests for them.Most dealers cant keep them for long before they sell.Still the cars price is not excessive and they are a viable alternative for those seeking a cheap gas sipper!

I can recall one old time Dealer at the time these came out snipping about the three cylinder econobox…”When they get down to 1 cylinder and one lug nut;That’s when I quit the business!”..I wonder if he has!One negative about the Metro is they did not have the mechanical reliability of the best japanese cars,but they still sell for far less!.Your also not likely to run into rusty cars of this Marque since untill recently they had almost no used value and were routinely scrapped.The convertible version is quite a cuttie and is the most sought after!
